Pokemon Blue Nuzlocke Time! (Part 1)
This is my first time on an emulator. Don't mind my nostalgia.
(IMAGES NOW REPAIRED!)
Ah, the familiar intro sequence..

And here we are! Time to kick some rear!
(Or die horribly...)

...Pokemon world, etc...
So let's name my character and the rival.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle reference having to do with evil clones. Don't know, don't ask. :P

Syaoran awakens in his room, ready to go on an adventure...

...but first, he needs to get a very important item.

There we go.
Oak, predictably, grabs him.

Going to Oak's lab, Syaoran picks out a Pokemon...

...And gets it.

...The Name Rater's getting a visit the MOMENT I set foot in Lavender Town. Bloody spelling errors...

Syaoran's irritating counterpart grabs the plant, and promptly challenges him to a face-off.

Pity that his AI is so poor. Really? Growling FOUR TIMES IN A ROW? Uh, you did notice I was whacking away at your HP all the while, right?

About this - I'm going to be using stat-altering moves if I have the opportunity to set up. This may change if I need pure offense, but I decided to play with it in this battle.
Fortunately, Growl failed TWICE (!), so Bulbasaur wasted two turns while I Tail Whipped + Tackle. I thought I'd get through it undamaged, but -

The Bulbasaur decided to pull out an actual attack. Not that it helped.

Yep, only lost 4 HP in the entire battle.
So much for needing that Potion.

Here you can see what I was talking about with capturing frames in motion. This is all from one tap of the screenshot button (with a few identical frames removed.)
Before you ask, my actual first battle was an L4 Rattata. Not counting that, though, because it's time to get PokeBalls...

On Syaoran's way back, he snagged a free item from this advertiser.

And a free Pokedex from Oak, once he arrived home!

Reservoir's current status:

Syaoran returns to Viridian to buy some PokeBalls...

...Then goes off to hunt.

YES!
Okay, as I mentioned in my notes, Hyper Fang is hellish. I also read that Super Fang will be very useful for capturing once I get it. Meanwhile, Pidgey-line... never proved very useful for me.
So, for all that Rattatas are supposed to be lower-rank than Pidgeys? I wanted a Rattata. And got one. :)

L4, how nice. Easier to train.
Battle went well, with no unexpected issues.

- caught!

Named it "Wormtail". May it be auspicious.

And here we stop, lest later notes go not-so-well...
