Murdock: It says a lot when Cori's hypothetical rendition of mine and Lady Hellene's secret love would be preferable to your existence.
Zephiel: And it's your fault people think I'm a furry now!

Misty: Do you wanna end up being James and Jessie's sycophants forever in Babies Ever After territory?
Brock: ...You have a point. >|^\

Cassidy: And make her stop calling me "Crappidy" and suggesting I used to be a valley girl!
Butch: And she keeps messing up my name! ...wait.
Jessie: EVERYONE forgets your name, Butts.
Butch: IT'S BUTCH! FOR THE LOVE OF ARCEUS, IT'S BUTCH! D:

YES. God, just imagine the never-ending banquet of French toast, strawberry cheesecake, grilled chicken, lettuce wraps, pimento cheese sandwiches, ham salad sandwiches, red velvet cake, chocolate mint cookies, Belgian waffles, strawberry-almond muffins, grilled fish, fruit salad, hamburgers, peach cobbler...

That last point of dimmension went away when the conflict did. D: I can't decide what's creepier now-the unstable screaming and crying and suicidal ideations of pre-split, or the lovey-dovey "it's never our fault" schmoop after she threw canon out the window.

To be fair, I can totally see Lowen SOMEHOW(TM) pulling that off in canon. XD Don't forget that Coriverse Lucius and Serra are bonding over orphanage!angst.

True, they would kind of have to considering the time period and the fact that they're constantly marching and fighting. XD

Yep. And Raven is JUST LUCIUS'S GOOD FRIEND, REMEMBER?! THEY ARE NOT GAY!

I was just playing devil's-advocate and pointing out that a lifetime of abandonment issues COULD screw one up, if one wanted to do some ~darker and angstier and REELISTIK~ take on Jessie's personality. But yeah, if you do that, you pretty much have to acknowledge that James would ALSO be really screwed up by a ~darker and angstier and REELISTIK~ take on emotionally distant, strict, and neglectful parents and a prepubescent psychopath for a fiancee.

I mean, canon glosses over it, but the kid ran away from home at age ten (or so) and STAYED that way, even though he's been dirt-poor, homeless, and forced (?) into a life of crime for the last several years. And that was STILL better than his home life. Fuck, but that is screwed up. That's... preeeeetty dark for a children's TV show.

Ah. Yeah, abandonment issues can account for a LOT. I mean, look at Severa and Henry and how much it fucked THEM up. But yeah, the consistency is the issue. To her credit she DOES acknowledge that James had a shitty past and that Jessiebelle was a horrible person. But James doesn't ACT like someone who hates his parents and is seriously triggered by memories of Jessiebelle! He's calm and mature and brave and gentle and acts as Jessie's armchair therapist! Either they've both had shitty pasts that make them unstable, or they can both brush off their pasts and smile happily!

Possibly. XD
