*blinkblink* What mages? Are there mages in Eliwood's Story? Seriously, I can't even remember anymore. This mode has wiped my brain.
If you meant the shamans - too many Javelins mean a ship piled high with Shaman corpses. >8D
I remember from my one Hector Normal Mode experience that promoted!Guy was ESSENTIAL in killing Kishuna. (He could both hit the creature AND critical it. I NEEDED that.) So Guy - there was never any question of Guy coming along on this playthrough. Plus, HOLY CRIPES, he could effectively wall the enemies because of his dodging capabilities. I literally held the Shamans off for SEVERAL TURNS by placing Swordmaster Guy as elder-magic bait while Lucius and Matthew tiptoed around the Peg. Knights' movement ranges. And he did similar things while I was breaking the stair-traps at the top of the ship. I think Arena-Abuse!Guy is going to be the local Nino for several more chapters...
