Context is the previous entry, which was a reaction to the same person (and others), tossing around the "all slash sucks"/"making a character a stereotypical uke is making him a WOMAN!" lines. So... I'm not inclined to view this line charitably.
And yes! I agree! Which is part of my objection to that comment - the idea that gender/sexuality is an overriding part of a character's personality.
I think we're also agreeing with the trans part - by not even touching, I meant 'Ahahaha, oh wow, a trans person cannot be a woman or a gay man, and must be something totally separate from either? REALLY?' *sigh* As I said, though, I didn't want to set off a Tumblr-esque genderwank... particularly since I had an uncomfortable feeling that it wasn't going to make a dent.
