Psychology Today article: Highly Sensitive People
Sense and Sensitivity
--
One thing in the article... confuses me. There's a lady who owns a marketing firm who 'cries almost daily'.
...How to phrase this without being impolite... She grew up. She was allowed to live on her own. She... still cries almost daily? She had parents that would allow her to cry almost daily?
...Is this what people mean by "cultural dissonance"?
[I'll also mention that, this being a Psychology Today article, it thoroughly whitewashes the dark side of the highly sensitive personality. ...Let's just say that I'm sure that everyone has had to endure somebody in real life with a "highly sensitive" temper... aaaaand leave it at that.]
