Pokemon Randomized Blue Nuzlocke!
(She may also be amused to hear that Pidgey were indeed relatively rare Pokemon. Meanwhile, the most common Pokemon, to judge from what replaced Pidgey, were Zubats and Mewtwos.)
The Wordgenerator.com Random Word Generator was used to generate names. Try it sometime - you'll learn some things.
All right. Now, due to an embarrassing incident where Mewtwo ended up as a starter Pokemon, I ran this through TWO randomizers. This isn't actually as astonishing as it seems, since I only used the latter to re-randomize the starters and have trade evolutions changed to L40 evolutions, but I'll be pointing out the options anyway.
This is the randomizer I used - Artemis251's Red/Blue Randomizer. Please note that it does NOT work with the Pokemon Blue.gb CoolROMs download - you need to use the Pokemon Blue Version (USA, Europe).gb download from Emuparadise.
I don't think that counts as telling you where to get ROMs. If you're a naughty person and you Google those names, it's obviously on your head. >_>

Hm, I already had Trade Evolutions changed to level-up? You can tell how much attention I was paying the settings on the second one.
Ahem! As you can see, this is randomized as blazes. What attacks TMs give are randomized (Peck was a TM, for instance), compatibilities were randomized (so any Pokemon had a 50/50 chance of being compatible with a given TM), Pokemon movesets were randomized (this randomizer forces at least one damaging move to appear in a Pokemon's initial moveset), stats were swapped around (so Chansey could end up with its HP base value and Special base value swapped), Pokemon types were randomized (Rock/Flying Bulbasaur, for instance), type effectiveness was updated to Gen II and later values, and...
Let me just show you what the README says.
7) Gameplay Modifications:
Want to fix some of those errors present in Red/Blue? Want to see the dreaded
Psychic-type finally have a counter? Then you'll love some of these options!
- Fix Type Errors:
Red/Blue had a few type-mismatches coded into it that future generations
fixed. The following changes will take place with this option selected:
- Psychic is weak to Ghost (instead of immune)
- Fire resists Ice (instead of neutral)
- Poison resists Bug (instead of neutral)
- Poison attacks are neutral to Bug (instead of super-effective)
- Change Trade Evos to Level Up:
Graveler, Machoke, Haunter, and Kadabra will evolve at level 40 when
this option is selected. I assume that you won't be able to trade if
you're playing on a ROM, and some randomization options may not end up
having the evolutions as wild pokemon.
(Yes, I know there are emulators that can trade between games, but is
that really the normal thing?)
- Modify Some Attacks:
A handful of attacks are fixed, and a few are outright changed. The
following attacks are changed to reflect their effects in later generations:
- Blizzard: Accuracy lowered to 70%.
- Bite: Flinch rate set to 30%.
- Dizzy Punch: Given a 10% confuse chance.
- Double-Edge: Base power raised to 120.
- Gust: Changed to Flying-type.
- Karate Chop: Changed to Fighting-type.
- Razor Wind: Accuracy raised to 100%.
- Rock Slide: Given a 30% flinch rate.
- Thunder: Paralysis chance raised to 30%.
- Wing Attack: Base power raised to 60.
Additionally, the following moves have changed to support a more broad
pool of pokemon types. (C'mon, you don't want Dragons left with only
Dragon Rage for STAB moves, do you?) Also, some moves have changed to
give Psychic-types more to fear. Also, that dumb Focus Energy glitch is
dodged a bit.
- Focus Energy: Raises the user's Accuracy 2 stages. (It used to
lower the user's critical hit rate, despite what
it says in-game and in guides...)
- Thrash: Changed to Dragon-type.
- Barrage: Changed to Shadow Ball.
- Defense Curl: Changed to Hex.
- Egg Bomb - Changed to Dragonbreath.
- Fury Swipes: Changed to Dragon Claw.
- Guillotine: Changed to Megahorn.
- Mega Punch: Changed to Shadow Punch.
- Slam: Changed to X-Scissor.
For reference, the new attacks are as follows:
- Dragonbreath: 60 power, 100% accuracy, Dragon-type, 30% chance to
paralyze foe.
- Dragon Claw: 80 power, 100% accuracy, Dragon-type.
- Hex: 40 power, 100% accuracy, Ghost-type, 10% chance to lower the
foe's speed.
- Megahorn: 120 power, 85% accuracy, Bug-type.
- Shadow Ball: 80 power, 100% accuracy, Ghost-type, 30% chance to lower
the foe's Special.
- Shadow Punch: 60 power, 100% accuracy.
- X-Scissor: 80 power, 100% accuracy, Bug-type.
Note that these changes will be made to pokemon's movesets, even if they
are not randomzied (and the same goes for TMs). As such, you'll find that
an un-randomized Exeggcute now knows Shadow Ball, and TM01 is now
Shadow Punch if not randomized.
- Change Pokemon Palette Colors:
Pokemon's Super Gameboy palette colors are changed to reflect their
primary types. 'Primary' here means 'first listed'. So, Bulbasaur's natural
primary type is Grass since it's Grass/Poison. The palettes chosen are
the following:
- Pink Normal
- Red/Yellow Ground
- Brown Fighting
- Orange Fire
- Yellow Electric
- Yellow/Green Bug
- Green Grass
- Light Blue Ice
- Dark Blue Water
- Blue/Orange Dragon
- Purple Poison, Ghost
- Purple/Orange Psychic
- Gray Rock, Flying
I'd have loved to make each type have its own palette, but the options
were a too slim for sensical color choices.
Shadow Ball is wonderfully, wonderfully OP, but that's another story.
Now for the Universal Pokemon Randomizer. I recommend using that one for a surreal game of Pokemon Crystal or Emerald.

Yeah, so Jr. Trainer became "Preschooler" and the like.
Okay, more seriously, starters were changed to be basics with two evolutions and Rival was changed to carry his starter throughout the game. This is to prevent any "Mewtwo starter" shenanigans.
I didn't try to give anything similar strength because this is a RANDOMIZER, and half the joke is that the Pokemon strengths are hideously misplaced. :P I mean, what's the point if you just get Ekans rather than Pidgey or whatever?
On to the game proper! (Or improper...)

I originally planned to theme this after The King In Yellow. Hildred was a reference to Hildred Castiange.
Then I realized that I had no plot, so that was pointless.

I withdraw the Potion and go down to the lab, and...

UH
WAIT
LET'S TRY THIS AGAIN
(Applied Universal Randomizer...)

Aaaaah, that's better.
And my choice of starter is obvious.

Dempne
v. To damn; to condemn.

:D
LUCKED OUT
Yeah, I DIDN'T set the Randomizer to avoid early-game-breaking moves.
This is around the point when I realized this run should be more glorious insanity than a serious tale, because there would really be no challenge.
(*cough* Not that this lasted, but... Still, hilarious while it worked!)

Pictured: my realization that I had no hope of getting a Route 1 catch.
Fortunately, all the game had given Mewtwo was Doubleslap, and the game's dictated Points Where Mewtwo Gains Moves wouldn't be giving it anything more until L50+. So Mewtwos were great EXP fodder for any Ghosts I got later on, and Dragon Rage fodder for now.
Yes, I have an Electric-type Charmander with Dragon Rage and Earthquake at L9. Problem? >:D

Autogeneal
adj. Self-produced; autogeneous.
Pictured: my Route 2 catch, which would actually prove to be one of the best Pokemon I ever caught.
Yes, a L2 Zubat.
I love randomizers.

Suffice to say that there was no hope of a Route 22 catch. The catch rate was too low ('the ball missed the Pokemon!'), and I decided to just KO it before I wasted all my Pokeballs.

More grinding...

Yes, it's a Ghost Zubat and it thinks it's a martial artist.
*sigh* I must admit, I didn't have high hopes for this one...

Viridian Forest catch!

Fly
v. To engage in flight.
[and many other definitions]
O_o

Pictured: what enemy Trainers now think are Weedles.

What I could have ****ing got if not for Fly. (I think this is the Pikachu-replacement.)

Welcome to Trainer!"Kakuna". (Might be Metapod. I'm not sure.)

Pictured: THE MOST ANNOYING ENEMY IN VIRIDIAN FOREST
Drowsees carry Ice Punch in this ROM.
That is all.

Trainers and grinding. (Venomoth is Ground/Ghost in this one, by the way.) Also, failed to catch anything beneath Pewter City.

...Yeah, can you say "overpowered"?

Dempne evolves, becoming progressively more ridiculous.

Note: fake!Brock (Donna?!) is actually competent, unlike real!Brock. Dempne nevertheless carries the day with Dragon Rage spam.

Fake!Brock's TM is also much better.

Yes, you read that text right. Welcome to the jungle, baby.
(Fortunately, Alakazam's speed is nerfed by the swapped stats, so it's no longer a horrible Crit!Demon. And its HP hasn't gotten any better, so... *automatic 40 HP damage*)
I think that Jynx threw Earthquake at me. No fair, Jynx, that's DEMPNE's move. :\

Obligatory shot for any Pokemon Red/Blue LP

Also, the game at least managed to preserve Rhydons having eff-all Special. Their actual stats (which I could see in an auto-generated txt file that I didn't start checking until halfway through the game) were actually very good, but it was useless when they were trying to fire off Special-based moves and getting OHKOed by anything that hit them.

Sorbic
adj. (Chemistry) Pertaining to, or obtained from, the rowan tree, or sorb; specifically, designating an acid, C6H8O2, of the acetylene series, found in the unripe berries of this tree, and extracted as a white crystalline substance.

...Useless TM is useless.

Pictured: various Trainer battles.
Sure a lot more lively than the usual Mt. Moon, isn't it?

Aaaaah, yes, Autogeneal.
Protip: GHOST-TYPES ARE VERY GOOD IN RANDOMIZERS. Perhaps less so in later generations, where Dark-type attacks spoil their party, but in Gen 1? With types fixed, only Ghost type attacks are super-effective against them, and they're immune to highly-prevalent Normal-type attacks, INCLUDING Explosion, Self-Destruct, and Hyper Beam. Which, incidentally, will make a ruin of most non-Ghosts.
They also wall Fighting-type attacks, as a pleasant bonus.
Now, Autogeneal has learned one of its essential attacks here, which it will retain through endgame - Shadow Ball. This is an 80-base-power Ghost attack. Autogeneal has STAB on it. A surprising number of Pokemon turned out as Ghost-or-Psychic types on the randomizer.
I had a LOT of fun with this attack.
Anyway, due to Autogeneal's Ghost-type, I placed it at the front through most of Mt. Moon. This did good things to its level.

Beat the tar out of the Rockets, since Dragon Rage was still an instant win button and Autogeneal made a good second for variety.

The sort of BS I had to put up with thanks to this randomizer...
(Actually, this isn't half as bad as it looks. It turns out that Drowsee/Hypno line ended up with the original Special stat mapped to Attack. The line doesn't seem to learn Attack-based moves naturally. *whistles innocently* Not that this made any fights far too easy, nooooo...)

Fun times with Fly's Shadow Punch. Geodudes are Ghost/Flying in this one, you see.
(Not that it helped too much, since only Trainers were waving them around, but still...)

The feared L16 Raticate has been defanged.

Autogeneal stomped this guy with ease.

Doesn't matter, since they're not linked to their original Pokemon, but it's nice to have variety...

My west-of-Cerulean catch! (And, incidentally, my OTHER big MVP through this game. You'll see why when you see what the randomizer did to its stats.)

Teraconic
adj. (Chemistry) Pertaining to, or designating, an acid obtained by the distillation of terebic acid, and homologous with citraconic acid.
Now, WTH happened to its Special stat?
According to the output file:
Randomizer Snorlax:
HP ATK DEF SPE SPD
110 65 30 160 65
Normal Snorlax:
HP ATK DEF SPE SPD
160 110 65 65 30
Oh, it got its Special stat where its HP stat should be. That's all. :D
...Wait, what?
Yeah, so Snorlax ended up with the second-highest Special in the game, second only to Chansey's ludicrous 250 Special. Unfortunately for Chansey, its Defense stayed at 5, so it died to a stiff breeze.
Uh, yeah. And it also has a Sleep move, which is why I kept it in my party when I was too dim to realize what that Special stat at this level implied. So it proved VERY handy for catches throughout the game.
This game's difficulty would have been halved if I'd only had the brains to train it up and give it a Special TM ASAP...

Sore loser. :P
(Dempne is overleveled. This would not persist throughout the game, mind...)

Dragon Rage fodder.

Pictured: the sort of BS this randomizer causes with Trainer battles.

Moltres is apparently Ghost/Bug. I find this out in retrospect.
It actually should have been pretty terrifying, with 125 base Attack, but... meh, maybe Dempne was just overleveled. :P

Apparently Dempne learned Kinesis at some point, not that I ever used it...

Convincing of what? That you should quit Team Rocket (excuse me - Team FISHER) and get a day job?

O_o
Okay, perhaps I'd gotten a bit arrogant...

Or not.

*cough*Overpowered*cough*

Nearby-Cerulean-Cave catch.

Narrowing
n. an instance of becoming narrow

Ordinarily-this-is-where-you-catch-Abras-patch catch.

Bestiary
n. A medieval collection of stories providing physical and allegorical descriptions of real or imaginary animals along with an interpretation of the moral significance each animal was thought to embody. A number of common misconceptions relating to natural history were preserved in these popular accounts.
I did try to train this up for a while, unfortunately. However, it would have taken forever to get an Attack-based move, so... :\ *meh*

Autogeneal the Awesome continues to progress.

Narrowing continues to be useless. (Okay, so the Drowsee line learns Mega Kick. That's not very helpful if IT DOESN'T HIT HALF THE TIME.)

Hello, Bill. Goodbye, Bill.

*snort*

Misty's Gym is not what it used to be.

The Dig TM remains pretty good.
(Never used it, but it's the thought that counts.)
And, in the above-the-Daycare strips of grass, we FINALLY...

...GET THIS WRETCHED CREATURE.

...How is that any different from all the OTHER Pokemon in this randomizer? o_o

Subagent
n. (Law) A person employed by an agent to transact the whole, or a part, of the business intrusted to the latter.

Above-Vermillion catch.

That's a funny-looking Diglett.

Generally
adv. 1. Usually; as a rule.
2. Commonly or widely.
3. Without reference to specific details or facts; broadly.

Pelvimetry
n. Measurement of the dimensions and capacity of the pelvis, especially of the adult female pelvis.

East-of-Vermillion catch.

Spanless
adj. Incapable of being spanned.

Magikarps just ain't what they used to be...

Racy
adj. 1. Having a distinctive and characteristic quality or taste.
2. Strong and sharp in flavor or odor; piquant or pungent.
3. Risque; ribald.
4. Vigorous; lively.
Grinding on east-of-Vermillion and S.S. Anne trainers...

I never get tired of this. :D

Hildred wasn't even worthy of mention.

Farewell, S.S. Anne, with all your crazy Trainers!
(To be honest, the random parties of trainers give a better sense of these guys being actually varied and competent than Growlite/Nidoran/Rattata/Pidgey-wielder #201...)

Narrowing: 'How does a Drowsee use Cut', you ask? The answer is **** YOU I'M A DRAGON.

Meh, currently Magnemite stinks, so...

A decent Pokemon, but I had other options...

Outside-of-Rock-Tunnel catch.

Sounst
adj. Soused. See Souse.
Souse
1. To plunge into a liquid. 2. To make soaking wet; drench. 3. To steep in a mixture, as in pickling. 4. Slang To make intoxicated.
[...and other definitions]
Would be appropriate if it wasn't Fire-type.
Hooray, a Wartortle. (Apparently an ersatz Voltorb...)
...Unfortunately, for all that I would end up training this up, I realized that starters aren't actually the best Pokemon if you aren't using them from the start. Don't get me wrong, they're good Pokemon, but... not the top tier. ...The 160-Special-base-stat Snorlax might have thrown off my sense of 'top tier', mind.

Also known as "the TM that would make Teraconic useable".
But that comes later.

Puggry
n. A light scarf wound around a hat or helmet to protect the head from the sun.

Pokemaniacs have apparently received promotions.
Don't be fooled by these screenshots - Rock Tunnel was actually pretty hard, and I was almost completely out of PP by the time I ran out of there. Still - Flash is an overrated HM. Didn't need it at all. :B

If that moveset got any more bizarre-looking, it would have come off of Smogon.
(I used Dempne as a "Ground-type" several times due to that moveset. It's useful.)

West-of-Lavender-Town catch. (A Shellder.)

Swift isn't what it used to be.

The point at which Teraconic became obscenely useful despite being absurdly underleveled. >:D

Pictured: why do Trainers do this to me? (Seriously, Zapdos and Mewtwo were the only legendaries that DIDN'T appear in enemy teams.)
East-of-Celadon catch:

Papabote
n. (Zoology) The upland plover.
So, just so you know, Pidgeys are rare Dragons that are apparently electrified marital artists that can suck the life-force right outta you, growling viciously all the while. This IS your ROM on drugs.

Inship
v. To embark.
Obscene attack? Duplicated moves? A two-turn attack as the third moveslot?
...Greetings, avatar of MISSINGNO.? O_O

Eevee REALLY isn't what it used to be. D|

The girl on top of the Department Store is out of stock of her usual decent TMs, but at least she mugged Erika over the weekend. o_o

Pictured: you know a Pokemon is in trouble when Cut is its best move.

Gladiole
n. (Botany) A lilylike plant, of the genus Gladiolus; - called also corn flag.

...Scarlett?
Damn, sir, the hormone therapy REALLY did a great job on you! Got a date set for the legal-name change yet?
(His team, as I recall, contained two Caterpies. Do you really have to be told how that battle went?)

****!
****!
****!
...I can't call that anywhere near bullshit. I knew Electabuzz had Ice Beam and I just didn't put two and two together.
Damn it. Randomizer!Cloyster had the highest Attack in the game (180 Attack). *sigh* So much for that one...
Sorry, Inship. I guess an avatar of MISSINGNO. just couldn't endure even in THIS warped reality.

I WAS BURYING MY SHELLDER, YOU JERK D:<
*wipes the floor with him*

...I never want to repeat that experience again.
And the damnable thing is that it isn't even a good Pokemon.

Geb
n. The god of the earth; father of Osiris and Isis.
If that moveset was on ANY OTHER Pokemon, I'd seriously consider stuffing it on the team. As is? Good grief, Teraconic had better stats at half that level. Just stay in the box, loser. D|
(Hydro Pump and Hyper Beam, eh? Pokemon Tower isn't going to stay in good shape too much longer...)

Aside from those horrible hellbeasts, Pokemon Tower was actually pretty easy. By the way, it turns out the Marowak fight is hard-coded - I got it here, even though Marowak is replaced by Articuno or some other ludicrous thing in wild battles.

Snorlaxes don't look like they used to, do they?

Foy
n. A farewell feast, drink, or gift, as at a wedding.
*in a saddened voice* Between this and its Ghost-type, what do you think all this indicates about its life expectancy?
(At least it was already dead...)

Pictured: yet more Trainer insanity.

ER, YES, SORRY ABOUT THAT, THIS DOESN'T COUNT

That's more like it.

The bikers... are about as easy as you think they'd be with a L40 Pokemon.

Polyzoary
n. A bryozoan colony or its supporting skeletal structure.
Even swapped stats can't save Kakuna from its low stat total.
Enter the Safari Zone!

(...several runs later...)

Having obtained all I needed to, I ran outside and fished in the pond just outside the Secret House to get my final Safari Zone catch.

Loophole
n. 1. A way of escaping a difficulty, especially an omission or ambiguity in the wording of a contract or law that provides a means of evading compliance.
2. A small hole or slit in a wall, especially one through which small arms may be fired.
Consider this revenge for that Tentacruel I couldn't get early on. :\
(And hey, I didn't know the second definition! I just learned something! :D)

Prolongate
v. 1. to extend the duration of; cause to continue longer. 2. to make longer in spatial extent: to prolong a line.

Stalagmite
n. A conical mineral deposit, usually calcite or aragonite, built up on the floor of a cavern, formed from the dripping of mineral-rich water.
(:D! I just learned something! I NEVER could keep that straight!)

Yes, you're seeing that right. Flamethrower!Staryu. You didn't need that sanity anyway.

Pictured: No matter how random things are, Koga's Gym will STILL have Pokemon using Self-Destruct.

What Poison and Sleep techniques?!

"Alex" isn't a very good Trainer, considering that he's getting beaten up by a massively underleveled Snorlax...

Caught nothing here.

WHAT
So long, Foy. At least you were already a Ghost. :(

Revenge kill, but...

...Sorry, Foy. I think that's twice that I've gotten a Lapras killed off in a Nuzlocke.

At least we catch a Flareon on the area nearby the maze of Trainers before the Route leading to Fuchsia...

Uncurable
n. HM jockey.
...Wait a minute.
Uncurable
adj. Incurable.
Incurable
adj. 1. Being such that a cure is impossible; not curable.
2. Incapable of being altered, as in disposition or habits.
That's right, we have the holy grail - a Flareon with its Attack switched with its Special. :D Joy!
(Pity I never really used it in battle... Actually, it did manage to contribute to the Champion battle at ~L33, much to my utter confusion and bewilderment. Unfortunately, I didn't screenshot that, for reasons I'll explain later.)

Yes, we have exploding Dragonites.
Well, at least I'm not that poor sap of a Nuzlocker who ended up having extremely common Snorlaxes that exploded all the time. I forget which one it was, but it was both... hilarious and tragic, we'll put it that way.

FLYING FLAREON DOESN'T GIVE A DARN ABOUT THE LAWS OF PHYSICS
EFF YEAH FLYING FLAREON
And now, since we have Fly - off to take the Pallet shortcut to Cinnabar!

Funny, Tangelas just don't look the way they used to.

...Nor do Tentacools.

Here we are in Cinnabar! Time to wipe the floor with Blaine.

Paviage
n. (Law) A contribution or tax for paving streets or highways.

Noier
n. An annoyer.

Cinnabar Mansion catch.

-___________________-
Randomizers DO have their downsides.

Waiting
n. 1. The act of remaining inactive or stationary.
2. A period of time spent waiting.
Unlike Shellder, it doesn't have any decent stats to round out its obscene Attack. So this will be evolved and forgotten.

You see, I realized that I had a halfway-decent shot at making 50 Pokemon for EXP. ALL, and decided to start evolving away.

As I said.

Hoy
n. 1. A small sloop-rigged coasting ship.
2. A heavy barge used for freight.

See? All I need is 12 more, and I can just grind by having good Pokemon do all the heavy lifting while those in back play cards. ...It's kind of important, since everything has good movesets now.

Ah, to have all three fully-evolved starters in the Pokedex.
Wish I'd had them in my team, but I decided to just go for the cheap wins instead. I didn't want to take several weeks on this like I did with Syaoran.

Now I pulled in my Fossils...

Tappet
n. A lever or projecting arm that moves or is moved by contact with another part, usually to transmit motion, as between a driving mechanism and a valve.

FeudalistFeudalism
n. 1. A political and economic system of Europe from the 9th to about the 15th century, based on the holding of all land in fief or fee and the resulting relation of lord to vassal and characterized by homage, legal and military service of tenants, and forfeiture.
-The Communist Manifesto

Alas, Graveler's Speed is still horrible, so I can't take revenge for the times the A.I. has fired off Fissure on me...
The Cinnabar Island trade was Koffing for Rattata, so I figured - why not?

O_o That milkshake brings all the Megahorns to the yard...

(Again, however, there's no saving a low stat total.)

(West-Fuchsia grass-patch catch.)

Bawl
v. 1. To cry or sob loudly; wail. 2. To cry out loudly and vehemently; shout.
Amazingly enough, it's a good Pokemon.
Unfortunately, never got to use it...

...Just didn't have much interest in it, unfortunately. It had no strong Attack-based move to go with Swords Dance, and I didn't think to give it a TM. Besides, I had other Pokemon.

Cinnabar Mansion haul...

Blaine's Gym was Water-type! However, it was very weak, so I didn't bother with screenshots.

Now, am I forgetting about some important plot-event? (You know, if I WAS paying attention to the plot?)
...
...
...
...Crud.

The King in Yellow promptly sucked out his mind.
...Sorry, it's that "plot" thing. I break out in rashes of it every now and then. :P

Mr. Psychic, to retain his sanity, has resorted to dropping acid.

I fly on over to the Daycare Man and check on Subagent.

...Meh.

The Nidoran-trade proves pointless.

Around now I began getting a funny feeling that something was wrong with Counter, but paid it no -

WHAT THE ****
THIS was legitimate bullshit. I should have called it, but didn't. Just - I mean -
It literally Countered off of a SWITCH-IN! There was no damage for it to counter! So how -
I ran to Smogon...
This attack is able to counter damage taken as the result of a Normal-type or Fighting-type attack (it will fail against other physical type attacks), including reversed damage (from Counter/Bide), Seismic Toss damage, and recoil damage. On multi-hit moves such as Fury Swipes, only the last hit can be Countered. Thus, a Fury Swipes user would not be in too much danger from Counter. The amount of damage Countered is not influenced by type and will hit Ghost-types.
Counter in RBY can be used to counter back damage done on previous turns and not just on the same turn that it is used as long as the opponent's Pokemon doesn't use any move. This includes turns during which an opponent is switched out, is frozen or defrosted, is fully paralyzed, or uses the non-damaging turn of a multi-turn move such as recharging, gathering sunlight, or glowing. For example: an Alakazam uses Seismic Toss against an opposing Chansey as it switches in; if the Alakazam switches with Tauros, and if the opposing Chansey uses Counter, Tauros will take the 200 damage reflected from the last turn.
Interestingly, Counter can critically hit, though it does not do a different amount of damage than it would have ordinarily. Also, this attack can work when the damage is done to the Substitute (even when the user has a Substitute) to Counter back the amount of damage that would have been done to the user. This allows Counter to counter back damage that is up to double the user's HP; think Explosion and Selfdestruct. The exception to this is Countering a OHKO from behind a Substitute, which causes the Counter to fail.
...So I literally got revenge-killed for the KO on the PREVIOUS Pokemon.
What. The. ****.
Okay, I will concede that it's a legitimate mechanics issue, one that I should have known about, and thus a legit death.
...

Goodbye, Puggry. You were part of my planned endgame team. With your newfound high Defense and Special, I wasn't expecting anything to kill you. MUCH LESS AN L33 SPEAROW.
The Elite Four run is not looking so good right now...

FINALLY

Hildred was hung out on a clothesline to dry.
When it comes to the randomizer, every weak trainer shall be exalted, and every mountain of difficulty laid low.
(I think he had two Lickitungs, and that's all that sticks in my memory...)

With my previous Surf/Cut user dead, my Flying Flareon also became a Surfer.
Dang, apparently getting a good Special really made it go berserk with the usability.

Giovanni didn't even merit a screenshot.

Hm, a Pokemon that evolves into one of the best in the game or a middle-of-the-road Pokemon mainly useful as one of Erika's speedbumbs.
Yeah, what d'YOU think?

Draughty
adj. characterized by or admitting unwanted or uncomfortable currents of air.

Puggaree
n. See Puggry.

I don't even remember what Sabrina had - just that she's distinctly underpowered without her precious Crit!Demon Abra line.

And that is ALL you need to know about the Viridian Gym.
In all fairness, I used a savestate to check Moltres. It was a Caterpie. Clearly Giovanni was just trying to use a Legendary Pokemon.
(And the sad thing was that he was about this easy in the Syaoran run...)

Thank you too much, jerk! I know you hate me for ruining your criminal organization, but that's just RUDE!

It was actually a useful TM! Probably wouldn't have beat the Elite Four without it.

Sadly, the Magikarp moveset is pretty good...

Teraconic has essentially no defense.
Ghost-type moves are physical.
That Grimer whipped out a Shadow Ball.
RETREAT!!! D:

Oh, DAMN IT.
I don't even know what that Mew used, but...
*sigh*
I'm sorry, Dempne. You were the best starter I could have asked for from this randomizer.
This being a randomizer with random names, I didn't get as attached to you as I would have if you were a legitimate Pokemon with a personalized name, but...
...rest in peace, pal.

Four dead. This is a bloody tale...

Indigo Plateau catch.

Victory Road catch - a Machoke.

See, I needed a Special move to go with Amnesia.

Pictured: "Zapdos".
I used a savestate immediately before checking it and loaded after I checked it. Wasn't going to catch it, just wanted a screenshot for the laughs.
Incidentally, Victory Road went VERY BADLY. I nearly got wiped due to a misclick (which I call Bullshit Clause on - Chanseys die when breathed on if you USE A PHYSICAL MOVE on them), and a wild Machoke pulled bullshit with a Fissure. I could have run from it, so... yeah, this wasn't a serious Nuzlocke, can we just forget about that? *sigh*
Aside from idiocy, I handled the Trainers all right, but... the only thing that redeems that stupidity is that the Elite Four were... much easier than expected. Whee?

Power Plant catch.

Good Pokemon, if I can evolve it.
However, at this point, I got sick of grinding and decided to do a trial run for laughs. I mean, obviously, I wasn't going to beat the E4 - I had (about) L49 Snorlax, L55 Golbat, L35 Flareon, L27 Gengar, L33 Gyarados, and L43 Diglett - but I might as well just save and report back about how badly I got beaten up. Then I'd settle down to serious grinding.
Makes sense, right?

Heh, this is going to -

WHAT

And the Arrogant Man knew the name of the King.
More seriously, I - uh - WHA?!
Okay, first of all, I lucked out with Lorelei. All Trainers, with the settings I gave the randomizer, have Pokemon of a certain type, with subtypes allowed. So she wound up with Fire or Ground, as I recall - Pokemon against which Waterfall was super-effective, anyway. I THINK the same held true for Lance - he died too fast for me to recall, as did Bruno.
Agatha's main distinction was that she had both Gengar and Arbok on her team, making me think that the randomizer had a bug and didn't alter her line-up... until she sent out a Gastly. I guess she ended up with the Poison-type designation... which might as well have been her type in the original game, anyway.
Gary's team was vicious, but I admittedly lucked out with the L61 Solarbeam Krabby. I had to wall several Solarbeams with L27 Paviage, which implies that it had a Special stat through the floor and that I shouldn't have bothered switching out... Autogeneal had kicked the bucket by that point, however, so I didn't want to take risks. I Thundered my way through L61 Moltres and L65 Poliwrath, giving me the win with my last Thunder PP.
Ah, now that's the real RBY Elite Four experience. Forget "planning" and "grinding" - just sail through by the skin of your teeth and a few PP. :P Maybe I should have more "trial runs" in later Nuzlockes?
(Look on the bright side, it will give you something at which to laugh when I get killed off and have to reload from my last save with a completely embarrassed expression...)
I did NOT expect to win on this run, much less solo most of the E4 with Autogeneal (only switching out to Teraconic to conserve PP and when Autogeneal got unexpectedly KOed during the Rival fight). And yes, Uncurable really did end up revenge-killing Autogeneal's killer at a ridiculously low level.
Only in a Nuzlocke, folks.

Teraconic... Well, first, I'm sorry that I forgot to get Ethers out of the PC. Sorry about that.
Second of all, YOU ARE FREAKING AMAZING, MAY I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH? My ONE regret with you is never replacing Bubblebeam with something stronger. But aside from that, you are incredible, and totally For The Win.

Autogeneal, you are the best Golbat ever. Well, you're technically a Golbat ghost, but who cares? You're amazing.
And I'm sorry I got you killed off, but heck, you're a Ghost... Maybe you'll set up shop with that Lapras, eh?
[Come to think of it, I think Autogeneal was killed off by Hildred's Snorlax (!). Maybe Snorlax is TOO good? :P]

Uncurable... You did an amazing job. Fly and Surf your way through the heavens and earth, you crazy mutant.

If somebody'd told me you'd actually survive a Solarbeam from an L61 Pokemon, Krabby or not, I never would have believed it.
Mad props, man.

72/103? What were you fighting?! ...Anyway, I can't remember, but you are also good.
...Say hello to Yulong for me if you Gyarados can communicate between dimensions, will you? T_T And tell him I'm STILL sorry.

You were just along for the ride and you know it, expect when I temporarily Transformed you into that Snorlax to check its moves when I was scrambling to KO it. But your aid was still appreciated. I hear all the chicks dig Hall of Famers, if you know what I'm saying.
Heh heh. Dig.
*dodges thrown swords*
So... that's all, folks. I think I've really mined out RB, since I've done two Nuzlockes on that generation and one complete randomized run. I now even know about its MOST EFFING RIDICULOUS mechanics glitch. I've done pretty much everything but stroll on over to the MISSINGNO. strip and see how much I can break the game before either the emulator, the ROM, or the savefile commits suicide...
So naturally, the only thing to do is to get around to the Yellow Nuzlocke. :P

Apparently the copy-pasted definitions had div styles attached that fucked up the cut. D: Sorry about that! It's fixed now.
