D| I think IS takes great pleasure in hinting at various backstories and leaving the fans to drive themselves mad trying to piece together the whole story. (F'r instance, my fanon is that Nino's bloodline had a dragon ancestor. Hence why Nino seems to be a bit young for her age, why the family was unusually powerful, and why they had knowledge of how to call dragons. Not that this has any real support in canon...)
Heck knows, I'm STILL trying to figure out how the Renault timeline works. Canas refers to the Morphs as "centuries" old. Renault and Nergal split up upon creation of the FIRST Morph. Renault was still murderous when Lucius was a toddler - less than two decades ago, at most.
