" "Maribelle, you're not supposed to be gay. This is Cori-land." "Oh, please, as if her immature kicking and screaming can stop me."" XD
" Then Chrom and Lucina would really have carbon-copy Generation Xerox romances! "Oh, your father healed my poor broken soul just like you're healing my son's!"" *buries face in hands* Oh gad. She doesn't have to try too hard. I just remembered the Touya/Touko/N route of resolving genderswap romances... Wait, wouldn't M!Avatar end up dating his niece? Hm, Cori would probably have some 'But they're not REALLY twins!' excuse in the wings.
"I think it's more of a coping mechanism myself. Well, my friend came up with that idea but I subscribed because some people really do cope with pain that way. And it seems to suit Henry." I'll take it as the Japanese 'I'm hiding my pain behind a smile and being a class-clown to get attention' trope that seems to be favored with some shonen protags. :P
"(Oh God, he kind of is. XD)" He's like... the fusion of Nino and Jaffar gone VERY VERY right WRONG. 'I'm BOTH an assassin with suppressed emotions and a peppy child prodigy from a background of abuse! Awesome!'
"(I know, right? I even told my friend Maria the whole Avatar story reminds me of a standard Mary Sue fic: tragic past, amnesia, evil oppressive father playing Break The Cutie, angst, guilt, the possibility of sacrificing themselves for the greater good and everyone mourning them, romance with the hottie of their choice...)" Isn't that the POINT of the Avatar? :P (You forgot 'awesome tactical abilities' and 'coming back from the dead'.) The only possible subversion is the implication that, if the Avatar HADN'T been accidentally memory-wiped, he/she would have not formed bonds to the same extent and instead become Grima without great resistance. (Yes, I know Lucina is the other divergence, but... it's interesting that Avatar presumably WASN'T amnesiac in the first timeline...)
"Yep. D: Tharja obviously forced some poor sap to marry her and give her a kid she could mold into another her! But poor little Noire wanted a different life so she ran away and found true love with Laurent/Brady/Inigo/whoever Cori chose for her." Hehehe... Cori's fics were really less one badficcer and more an entire cracked worldview, weren't they? I'll give her credit for that. Most of the time, it's just 'How would they completely botch, misinterpret, and fail to understand the most basic facets of canon?', but with her, it's 'What does this translate into in Corispeak?'
