Where, if anywhere, was the wank in GBA FE fandom? I know about the grand Ship Wars, I know about the occasional flares of homophobia, and I know there was some bashing of female characters... any other trends? (Yes, I know about Gunlord, though I still don't know what he got in trouble for.) Characterization-wank, non-Gunlord-BNF-wank, which-game-was-best wank? :P

Just curious.
[And am I correct in saying the main console-FE wank was over the Ike/Soren versus Ike-het ship wars?]

Aah. :D Yeah, compared to big-name fandoms like Bleach, Naruto, Final Fantasy and others FE was pretty tame...we maybe had like 1 wank every few years (FE8 localization, Ike/Soren special convo/"canon yaoi" in FE10). But then the anon meme started and KABOOM! Bitching about slash and elitism and reviews and fanfic and everything else in between, drama, whining, personal attacks.

Ah, I toooootally ignore the anon meme. As far as I'm concerned, anonymity ought to be for kink memes, and not much else - it's just asking for trouble.

Anon meme's all but dead now. But yeah, I agree. I've seen a few anon memes I've liked, but the FE one just turned into a bunch of stupid crap.
