So, since my Dreamwidth f-list is pretty small right now...
Let's contemplate what would happened if infamous badficcer Cori Falls had been a Fire Emblem fan rather than a Pokemon fan.
FE6:
-Roy is a big evil meanie-pants who picks on Zephiel, who just wasn't loved enough as a child.
-Zephiel/Brunya, I suppose?
-A Jahn fangirl would have joined up with Cori and written her self-insert OC into a pairing with Jahn, who has mysteriously grown emotions.Well, he obviously has emotions, but "non-self-righteous ***hole" emotions, I mean.
-Desmond would be resurrected at least once to be put through an incredibly humiliating and undignified second deathand everyone would remember this as The One Thing Cori Did Right.
-The Bern army would be a loving and benevolent place not at all focused on world conquest.
-At least one War Dragon of abnormal intelligence would be converted into a wise-cracking loudmouth obsessed with Zephiel and Brunya's sex life.
-The entire issue with Idoun would be completely whitewashed. That, or we'd find out she enjoyed being brainwashed. Or something.
Any other suggestions, Sarajayechan?I'll post FE7 and FE8 speculations later. :P

Re: BRINGS THIS POST BACK FROM THE DEAD
Wonder who she would bash instead, though. :\ Maybe she'd pull a reformation on him like she did on that Yu-Gi-Oh character (Rex?). Did she not bash Yu-Gi-Oh characters permanently? I never saw any of her fics for that fandom...
"Yeah, she forgot to edit TotR to conform with the new ToD."
*nods* Well, to be fair, even obsession probably couldn't deal with editing across ALL of her fics. (And, sadly, it's almost IC for the mentally-unstable versions of Team Rocket that ran around in her fics. 'Did we say that? Oh, bugger, the haircut wiped our memory.)
"I know, right? As it is, her fics and her attitude back then were creepy and horrible, but it's also kind of interesting to analyze her and imagine what she's like now that she's mellowed out."
Probably an average fan with a chill attitude. *shrug* She was definitely bonkers in the WRH era, but at the same time... I've got to wonder if there was some real-life stress driving the apparent fandom lunacy, and honestly, 'nervous breakdowns' [to use her term] can make even the chillest fan act... slightly... off-kilter. So she probably acts like early!Cori Falls, possibly with a dollop of cynicism thrown in.
"I think even before today's SJW culture it'd still be easy to see the horror and bad implications in her stuff, but even a batshit entitled brat is preferable to stuck-up elitists who think THEIR dry-as-paper genfics and ~mature, no-squeeing approach~ to fandom makes them better than all those icky icky fanbrats."
*NOD* YES SHE DEFINITELY WAS
DEFINITELY
Eff it, you realize we might SYMPATHIZE with her if she'd appeared in this era? Obviously-very-sheltered, perhaps-not-quite-stable person being hounded by shrieking Social Justice goons? Yeah, she'd have MAJOR unfortunate implications all over the place, but the poor lady'd probably be receiving death threats. And it wouldn't hurt that we wouldn't be able to tell whether she just couldn't take criticism or whether she was lashing out over being told her stories were worse than the Holocaust and she should literally go die in a fire. :\
...Damn. Man, I'm... really glad, for both her and fandom, that she had her day before the SJWers moved in...
Re: BRINGS THIS POST BACK FROM THE DEAD
Yeah, early!Cori was on the rabid side but she seemed like any other Rocketshipper. Maybe she lost her job or had a family crisis that made her lose it?
...oh my God. YES. There's a difference between "okay dude your fics and attitude suck ass, seriously" and SJWs telling you to go die in a fire. Cori was a lot of things, but she was NOT someone who would deserve a death threat. She just bullied people based on fandom preferences, SJWs bully people for sport.

'For our own good! Surely! So we could grow!'
"Maybe she lost her job or had a family crisis that made her lose it?"
*shrug* Who can say? Maybe fandom fame went to her head, maybe money got tight - million things can make people get stressed out.

Yes, totally. And the funny thing is... she never really came across as understanding that other people could be hurt or offended by what she was saying. (As opposed to SJWs, who seem to have a refined and detailed understanding of just how much pain they can inflict on people... :\) Like... I really don't think she understood by the end that other people saw Ash as an innocent twelve-year-old rather than a complete psychopathic monster who totally deserved a beatdown. Part of that was early-fandom echo-chamber thinking, but part of that was just her being rather out of it/sheltered/whatever. So, for all that her fics are FUBAR (particularly towards the end), she was really a lot nicer than... a lot of the stuff floating around nowadays... :\
Re: BRINGS THIS POST BACK FROM THE DEAD
...I never thought of it that way. There was definite malice and rage in her actions, but I never considered the fact that she might have been ignorant rather than outright mean. Like when she said "I don't understand how anyone can like death fics/Ash Ketchum", she really didn't understand. Ignorance coupled with myopia.
Re: BRINGS THIS POST BACK FROM THE DEAD
Yep. She seemed well-meaning, but really... really... really... thick. (And bratty, but that sometimes results just from being both emotionally unstable and thick. :\) That's part of why I figure she's probably a much saner fan now - seen more of the world and how people work, you know? *shrug*
Re: BRINGS THIS POST BACK FROM THE DEAD
Yeah, in your ToTR spork you wondered if she was abused somehow...maybe she was and it shaped her world views for a long time, and getting therapy helped her develop healthier ones.
