guardians_song: A slightly edited posterized version of King Zephiel from Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken. (Amused)

Oh. That's what everybody means when they say The Legend of Dragoon's translation was awful.

The Game Script is at the link. ...Good gad, some of those lines are clunky.

On the other hand, Zieg's entire big-reveal speech recapping the events of the Kadessa battle is one big moment of Fridge Brilliance once you learn the truth...

Humans arose with Dragoons in front. Nothing
was their match because they obtained the power of the dragon. And
finally, they drove Melbu Frahma into a corner. I felt certain of human
       ...my victory.
[...]
Humans made a mistake. Silly Humans destroyed
the Crystal Sphere, which was the container of the soul along with the
       royal capital Kadessa.
Yeah. That right there? The weird way Zieg's talking about those events is, in retrospect, absolutely blatant foreshadowing. *shakes head in surprise and respect* ...Say, is it possible to guess what really happened from his speech and Freudian Slip alone? I'd say it might be, but I'm not sure the game really let the player know that it was possible under the TLoD magic system ahead of time.

...One heck of a game, that's all I can say. One heck of a game.
